Timothy Ihrig, M.D., M.A., is a palliative care physician. Dr. Ihrig cares for the most vulnerable and sick individuals. His expertise is understanding risk as applied to healthcare systems, payers and providers, its effect on micro- and macro-economics, population health, regulatory compliance and their interactions. Dr. Ihrig’s featured TED Talk has been viewed more than one million times globally. He is endorsed by the Center for the Advancement of Palliative Care as a national level clinician-educator and the Australian Minister of Health as an International Fellow. Dr. Ihrig is a palliative care content expert to the Accountable Care Learning Collaborative through Western Governors University in collaboration with the Duke-Margolis Health Policy Institute and Dartmouth Institute of Heath. Dr. Ihrig has his M.D. from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine and his M.A. in Molecular Biology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Iowa and a fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at Stanford University.
